Business flyer

Businessflyer
The business flyer is meant to be clean, organized and professional looking without any messy unclean lines. Visually I made sure the slyer would not be too hard to look at, or give someone a headache. The back ground is a neutral beige color with a strong blue cup on the lower left hand corner. This is the object that is supposed to stand out of the flyer to catch a passerby. The title of the business is big and bold, but uses a more fancy script. Along with the title the words coming from the tea cup, which a cursive script, are the only two “fancy scripts” the rest are more plan, but with different font sizes. Using the cursive font for the words coming out of the cup is supposed to remind the audience almost of steam coming from a cup. Keeping most of the information in one font allows the emphases to be put on the more important information. The design is simple, but simple allows ones point to be clear. The point I would want to come across, is that the business is organized, well managed (because of the cleanness of the flyer) and this is a “should” place. I used paragraph formatting tools, font tools, layout tools and drawing tools (for the cup).

If my organization was The Tea Box, I felt as though my advertisement should have similar aspects so the audience would be able to recognize it. I used the same color scheme and cup design and font to keep the theme going. Also the design I hope would give a put together feel, so that the audience would be more compelled to visit. I used a third rule while doing this design. I did not want everything to be in the center because I felt that would be a tad bit boring, so the spacing is off center vertically and horizontal. This should make the advertisement aesthetical pleasing. But to center is a bit I put a box with a stroke around all the information. For the most vital information, the event title “Tea Tasting Extravaganza” and the where when and cost. I used larger and bolder font, to make sure it stood out and grab the audience’s attention, and then if he or she wanted to know more about, they could easily read the rest of the information on the card.

Company Logo

logo
With logo’s one should make sure whatever he or she is doing, it will look good at any size. That was one of my troubles, being able to make something that was interesting enough to be able to be seen big yet, not so detailed that one couldn’t read it when it was little. I knew with the logo “Atlantic brewers” I wanted to do something with water and waves. So I drew a box and started to make the waves. At first the color was too dark so I changed the transparency to 80. The font was difficult to find because I needed something, that wouldn’t be too fancy to where you couldn’t read it when it was little. So I used a simple bold font. At first I did not have the mug, but looking at the logo I felt that it needed something else. Also because the eye automatically reads right to left I placed the mug first. The color of the mug is a contrast from the background so it would catch your eye. It off centered the wording, which added to the visual aspect. The design is bold and simple but I feel would stand out

Music CD Cover

For the CD cover I wanted to use a picture as the background for a design element. I have always like Victrola’s, so I choose that as my CD cover. There were many different types but I wanted one that would give an old feel. I needed a picture that was faded. I did not change the size of the picture I only cropped it. Leaving just the picture and the name, would have been terribly plain, so I decided to add a black stroke to the outside to add contrast from the pale colors of the background. While title I wanted something thicker to really stand out from the back ground because the name of the artist is the main part of a CD cover. Also I placed it on the lightest background so it would really stand out. For the back the background is the same to have continuity although it is faded so the titles of the songs would be able to be read. I did center the titles because those were the only thing that really needed to be placed on the back cover and where the main part. The font was thin with some tracking to space out between the lines. The record company was written around the circle. The barcode was placed on the lower left hand corner. And the cold stroke was places to relatively keep things centered.
